Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 July 2026
Slapback is built privacy-first. The short version: there is no account, no server, and no tracking. Everything you do in Slapback stays on your iPhone.
1. Information we do not collect
We do not require you to create an account. We do not operate a server that receives your data. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, or browsing history, and we do not sell or share personal data with third parties.
2. Data stored on your device
Your tasks, focus sessions, streaks, statistics, settings, and the list of apps you choose to block are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage. This information never leaves your iPhone unless you explicitly choose to share it (for example, by sharing a progress card).
2b. Optional name
You may optionally enter a first name to personalise greetings and messages. It is stored only on your device and is never transmitted.
3. Screen Time & app blocking
Slapback uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks (Screen Time) to block the apps and websites you select. Your Screen Time data is processed by Apple's system and displayed privately inside the app through an Apple-provided report. Slapback cannot read, export, or transmit that data.
4. Microphone & speech
If you choose to add a task by voice, Slapback uses the microphone and on-device speech recognition to transcribe what you say. This happens on your device. The audio is not recorded or uploaded, and the microphone is only accessed when you tap the voice button.
5. Payments
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details. Your subscription status is verified on-device via your Apple ID.
6. Children
Slapback is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date.
